Pregnancy Reflexology in Sherborne

Gentle, Natural Support for Every Stage of Pregnancy

Pregnancy is a special journey, but it can also bring its share of physical changes and emotional ups and downs. Reflexology offers a natural, non-invasive way to support your wellbeing during pregnancy — helping you to feel more balanced, relaxed, and nurtured as your body prepares for birth.

What Is Pregnancy Reflexology?

Pregnancy reflexology is a safe and gentle form of reflexology tailored specifically for expectant mothers. By working with specific reflex points on the feet, this therapy aims to:

  • Ease common pregnancy discomforts such as backache, swollen ankles, and nausea.

  • Promote relaxation and reduce stress or Pregnancy Anxiety.

  • Support better sleep and overall wellbeing.

  • Encourage balance in the body as it adapts to each trimester.

Is Reflexology Safe During Pregnancy?

Yes. Reflexology is considered safe throughout pregnancy when carried out by a trained practitioner. Every session is adapted to your stage of pregnancy and your individual needs. Many women enjoy treatments as part of their self-care routine during pregnancy, finding them both calming and restorative.

Benefits of Reflexology During Pregnancy

Women often report a variety of benefits, which may include:

  • Relief from tension and stress.

  • Reduced swelling in feet and ankles.

  • Support with digestive discomfort.

  • Improved sleep quality.

  • A greater sense of wellbeing and connection during pregnancy.

While reflexology supports general wellbeing, it is not a substitute for medical care. Always consult your midwife or doctor if you have any concerns.

What to Expect in a Session

  • We’ll begin with a short consultation to discuss how your pregnancy is progressing and any areas you’d like to focus on.

  • You’ll then relax on couch while I gently work on your feet.

  • The treatment is deeply soothing — many women drift into a restful state during the session.

  • Sessions typically last around 60 minutes.

Can I have Reflexology Postnatally?

Some women experience a ‘low’ often called ‘Baby Blues’ a few weeks after giving birth. This may be caused by a combination of reduced sleep and hormonal disruption and fluctuation - this period is now termed the Fourth Trimester. Reflexology is excellent at helping to de-stress and calm the body, aiding sleep, rebalancing hormones and soothing you postnatally, giving you time to adjust to the arrival of your little one!
