More Than A Cycle

The Emotional Toll of Fertility

I wanted to open a conversation about the emotional toll of fertility that I see so many of my clients struggle with. I hope that my article (below) will find those who are currently on the roller coaster and encourage them to seek holistic support.

I also hope that it equips those who might find themselves around someone who they may suspect, or know, is going through this. Perhaps they will find more understanding in the writing and be able to offer support.

Some are at the beginning their fertility journey, others have been on it for years, the majority of them share one thing in common - stress.

The impact of this stress often starts off subtly and builds month by month, cycle after cycle until it presents as tension in the body, poor sleep, anxiety, worry and perhaps worse, unwanted and unhelpful disruption to the hormones.

My clients speak of feeling that their lives are on hold, everything revolves around their cycles, especially their moods and emotions.  They reduce or stop making social appointments, they feel unable to enjoy themselves, to let their hair down and to ultimately ‘relax’.  All the time this longing grows and becomes overwhelming. If this article resonates with you and you’d like support on your fertility journey, you’re very welcome to explore my work or get in touch.
